Conceição extension rounds 61,18Km2 and it's located East of the city and about 1Km above Cabanas, the population rounds 1400 permanent residents. The parish, popular for its surrounding hills of fig and almond trees, depends mainly from agriculture and arts and crafts.
The village of Conceição de Tavira, like its "sister-parish" Cabanas de Tavira, it's mostly a typical rural town of fishermen and farmers with narrow streets and small houses of whitewashed walls. Among the main historical attractions of the parish are the 18th century statues inside a Gothic origin church housing a 17th century silver holy monstrance.
